About us

The Advisory Board of USA for ACFR serves as a strategic body of thought leaders, policy experts, and changemakers committed to shaping a new era of inclusive diplomacy between the United States and Africa.

Under the yearly theme “Voices of Change: African and American Young Women Shaping Global Democracy,” the Advisory Board provides guidance, vision, and credibility to the Forum’s mission of reimagining foreign policy, elevating women’s leadership, and fostering transcontinental partnerships for democratic renewal.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Guidance: Advise on the Forum’s thematic direction, speaker selection, and program design.

  • Thought Leadership: Contribute insights and expertise to key sessions such as the Strategic Dialogue on Youth Leadership and Transcontinental Exchange and the Women in Political Leadership Forum.

  • Network Mobilization: Leverage personal and institutional networks to promote participation and visibility.

  • Mentorship and Inclusion: Support youth and women leaders through mentorship and advocacy for inclusive representation.

  • Global Engagement: Strengthen U.S.–Africa relations through diplomacy, education, and collaborative initiatives.

Composition:

The Advisory Board includes:

  • Senior diplomats and foreign policy experts

  • Leaders in education, civil society, and international development

  • Youth advocates and women in political leadership

  • Innovators in global governance and democratic renewal

Term and Commitment:

  • Advisory Board members serve a one-year renewable term.

  • Participation includes quarterly virtual meetings, strategic consultations, and presence at the Forum (in-person or hybrid).

Impact:

By serving on the Advisory Board, members help shape a transformative platform that amplifies underrepresented voices, fosters mutual understanding, and builds lasting bridges between African and American communities.
